Missoula Co. reports 62 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases

MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) is reporting that 62 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases were confirmed since the Tuesday update.

The number of active COVID-19 cases has risen from 334 on Tuesday to 354.

Seven of the county's new cases -- as well as 17 of the active cases -- are associated with the University of Montana.

A total of 7,017 COVID-19 cases has been confirmed in Missoula County including 6,605 recoveries and 58 COVID-19 related deaths.

There are currently 30 active COVID-19 hospitalizations including 17 Missoula County residents, according to the MCCHD update.

The average of daily new cases per 100,000 has held steady at 50.

The MCCHD goal is to bring that number down to 25/100,000 people for two consecutive weeks or more.

Community Medical Center and St. Patrick Hospital began COVID-19 vaccine immunizations on Dec. 17.

Missoula County residents can call 406-258-INFO weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to discuss COVID-19 information.

The Missoula City-County Health Department may be alerted to additional cases before the Montana Department of Health and Human Services.
