Missoula County reports 53 additional COVID-19 cases

MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) reports that 53 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since the Monday update.

The total number of cases has now risen to 5,259 including 4,495 recoveries and 45 COVID-19 related deaths.

According to the Tuesday update, there are 34 active hospitalizations due to COVID-19, including 10 Missoula County residents.

The average of daily new cases per 100,000 has risen from 61 reported on Monday to 63. The MCCHD goal is to bring that number down to 25/100,000 people for two consecutive weeks or more.

It was announced on Dec. 7 that Community Medical Center and Providence Saint Patrick in Missoula will be among the first health care centers to get the COVID-19 vaccine -- possibly as early as Dec. 15.

MCCHD announced on Dec. 4 that the drive-thru COVID-19 testing center located on Flynn Lane will now be accepting weekend appointments.

The Missoula City-County Board of Health updated the local COVID-19 restrictions on Nov. 19.

Missoula County residents can call 406-258-INFO weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to discuss COVID-19 information.
