MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) will hold a public vaccination clinic on Thursday, Feb. 18, at the former Lucky’s Market in the Southgate Mall.

Approximately 400 first dose COVID-19 vaccine appointments will be available for the clinic.

Appointments will open online at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17. The link to make appointments will be available here. The appointments will be offered online only. In the near future, MCCHD will offer appointments via the phone through 406-258-INFO option 3.

It should be noted that appointments are non-transferable and individuals are only allowed to book one appointment per person. Thursday’s clinic will not take walk-ups and appointments are mandatory. An email address is required to book an appointment.

According to a news release, people who book their appointments on Wednesday are also committing to a second dose appointment exactly 21 days from the date of their first dose at the exact time as their first appointment.

People who are successful in booking an appointment will receive a confirmation email within one hour of booking their appointment that will contain additional information.

Appointments are only available to Missoula County residents who fall into tier 1 of phase 1B. Tier 1 of phase 1B includes those ages 70 and older, American Indians ages 16 and older, and people of color ages 16 and older.

Phase 1A patients will continue to be eligible.

It should be noted that there are two different brands of COVID-19 vaccines and the timing of the second dose differs slightly. For the Pfizer vaccine, the second dose will be 21 days after the first dose. Meanwhile, the Moderna vaccine the second dose will be 28 days after the first dose.
