HELENA — According to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map, Montana saw 32 additional cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
That is the second highest single day jump in cases since the virus was first reported in Montana back in March. The current highest single day total occurred on March 26, when the state saw 35 cases in a single day.
As of Saturday morning on June 20 there were 130 active coronavirus cases in the state.
Fourteen counties reported new cases. Gallatin County saw the most with seven new reported cases.
Saturday's data raises the total number of cases in the state to 697. The state is reporting 698 cases because a case from May is attributed to Jefferson Co.
Jefferson Co. reported that the case involved a man in his 50’s who has not been in the state for several weeks. They added that the case was not acquired in Montana and the man has not been in contact with anyone in Montana.
Since Wednesday, the state reported 1,108 new tests completed. That raised the total number of tests counted in the state to 69,530. According to data on the map, 547 people are considered recovered. Ten people are currently hospitalized by the virus
To date, 20 people have died in Montana as a result of the virus.
