MISSOULA — Missoula Police Department wanted to clarify what the directive from Governor Steve Bullock means for public safety and law enforcement.
MPD Officers are out on patrol and responding to emergency calls for service, and ‘in-progress’ crimes.
Whatthe police department is not doing is stopping people on the street to determine their business or be "social distancing police."
Rather, it is MPD's focus to assist and educate citizens on the directives, and provide assistance where possible for Missoulians in relation to COVID-19 issues.
MPD is concerned about the well-being and safety of the community, and asks the community to voluntarily follow the orders for everyone’s health and safety.
