LIBBY — Local public health officials announced on Monday evening that two students from Lincoln County middle and high school tested positive for COVID-19.
Libby Schools Superintendent Ron Goodman told MTN News that the school district is working with the Lincoln County Health Department to contact trace for the positive cases.
Goodman says there's no evidence the virus was contracted or transferred to other students at the school.
However, if there is evidence the virus is being transferred within the school district he says that's when schools will go completely remote.
Goodman notes that about 20% of students in grades seven through 12 are learning remotely by choice.
The school district and Lincoln County Health Department will work to identify where and how the virus was contracted.
