MISSOULA – A Washington State man has been sentenced to over a dozen years in prison for distributing meth in Western Montana.
Salomon Mejia Preciado, 36, of Yakima, Washington, was sentenced to 151 months in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Preciado is a former federal felon who was sentenced in 2003 to ten years in prison in Eastern Washington.
Prosecutors say that law enforcement set up an undercover operation in which they purchased one pound of meth from Preciado in Missoula in September of 2017.
Preciado was apprehended in his vehicle with six pounds of methamphetamine while traveling back to Missoula for another deal.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Tara Elliott and investigated by the Missoula Drug Task Force as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods.
