MISSOULA – A 27-year-old is being accused of assaulting two people at the request of a female victim’s ex-boyfriend.

27-year-old Bryan Groehler is being charged with two felony counts of assault with a weapon after two people were assaulted with a large wooden dowel, according to court documents.

On Sept. 10,  Missoula Police officers received a call of a physical disturbance where a woman was screaming for help after being struck multiple times.

A female and male victim told police that while the female victim was outside of her home she was approached by an unknown male who began to assault her verbally and physically.

When the male victim noticed what was happening he came out of the house and stopped the assault while also getting struck in the face.

Both victims said that they could not identify who the assailant was.

The female victim was able to identify Groehler after receiving a Facebook message from an unidentified person containing two pictures of Groehler.

She then took the pictures to police who were able to confirm Groehler’s identity along with the other male victim.

According to court documents, the female victim learned from an unidentified friend that her ex-boyfriend might have ordered the attack.

The unidentified friend says that the female victim’s ex-boyfriend told him while they were both in prison that he had told Groehler to assault the female victim.
