MISSOULA – New details are emerging in court documents from the double homicide at the Mountain Valley Inn back in October and new charges are being filed against two of the suspects.
27-year-old Jon Whitworth and 18-year-old Preston Rossbach are facing new intimidation charges for their alleged involvement in the double homicide, along with charges of deliberate homicide, attempted homicide and assault with a weapon.
Whitworth is believed to be the shooter in the homicides by the Missoula County Attorney’s Office.
According to court documents, on Oct. 19, Whitworth and Rossbach asked Labenza Charlo and her boyfriend Josiah Senecal for meth from a dealer that Whitworth had accused of providing them with “bad meth”
Charlo told police that the four then drove to the Mountain Valley Inn were Charlo showed Whitworth and Rossbach to the room where she had received the meth from.
Upon arrival at the room, Charlo was told by Megan McLaughlin that the dealer, Raven, had gone out to get more.
Whitworth Rossbach and Charlo began to leave the hotel when Whitworth wanted to return to the hotel room where Charlo says he shot all three people in the room.
Whitworth and Charlo then made it to their vehicle and waited on Rossbach, who upon arrival, said “no witnesses”
All four made it back to Charlo’s residence where Whitworth and Rossbach threatened both Charlo and Senecal if they were to talk to police.
Whitworth will now be charged with intimidation on top of two counts of deliberate homicide and one count of intimidation.
Rossbach will have two charges of intimidation tacked on to two charges of accountability for deliberate homicide and one charge of assault with a weapon
