HELENA – The Helena Police Department is investigating two armed robberies that happened on Thursday night.

Helena Police say the suspect walked into a business on the 1600 block of Prospect just after 10 p.m., showed a gun and demanded cash. According to police, he fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

About 10 minutes later police responded to a second reported armed robbery, this time in the 1100 block of East Lyndale. Police say the second robbery followed the same pattern as the first.

Helena’s Loose Caboose Bar and Casino says it was one of the casinos robbed.

In a Facebook post, the business says the suspect was wearing a bandana over his face so that “only one eye was exposed” and was wearing a dark blue or black hoodie with white stripes.

Witnesses say it appears the suspect was carrying a semi-automatic handgun and fled on foot. The suspect is approximately 6′ tall with a thin build.

The Loose Caboose Bar and Casino says no one was injured. Police say the case is actively being investigated and there is no other information at this time.
