BUTTE – A man is in custody after a high-speed chase with Butte police Friday night.

John Isaac Flinn, 29, is charged with five felony counts of criminal endangerment, as well as charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a peace officer, according to Butte Sheriff Ed Lester.

Around 8 p.m. Friday night, police were following a car they believed was involved in a gunfire incident last week.

Flinn allegedly ran a stop sign at Montana Street and Galena, hit another vehicle, and then ran into a utility pole. He took off on foot, but officers were able to track him down and take him into custody.

A female passenger in the car was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Four people were in the other car that was hit. They were not injured.

Flinn also has charges out of Anaconda-Deer Lodge for felony theft and felony possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute.

The investigation is continuing. Flinn remains in jail Saturday.
