Suspect arrested after forcing woman into vehicle, short pursuit with Billings PD

BILLINGS – A suspect was arrested late Wednesday after leading Billings police officers on a short pursuit.

Officers were called to the intersection of First Avenue South and South 27th Street at 11:05 p.m. on a report of a pedestrian being struck and a female being forced into a vehicle.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled, leading them just over a mile away to South 27th Street and Frontage Road where the vehicle crashed.

The driver was arrested. The Billings Police Department released information about the incident in a Tweet.

Details on the female’s condition, potential damages from the crash, the suspect’s name, and possible charges have not been released.

2305 hrs Ofc’s sent to veh vs ped and a female being forced into a veh at 1st Ave S & S 27. Ofc’s arrived & located veh and attempted to stop it. Veh fled and Ofc pursued. Veh crashed at S 27 & S Frontage. Susp driver was taken into custody.
