MISSOULA – A Missoula man has been sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to drug charges.
Gerald Eugene Kennedy, 54, who admitted to distributing methamphetamine, was sentenced on Thursday to six years in prison and five years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme said.
Kennedy, 54, pleaded guilty in October to possession with intent to distribute meth.
Kennedy was charged after a Missoula Police Department sergeant pulled Kennedy over during a traffic stop and discovered meth on Kennedy’s person during a pat down.
Kennedy admitted that the substance was meth and later admitted to having distributed meth for about two to three years.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Tara Elliott prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the Montana Regional Violent Crimes Task Force and FBI.
