MISSOULA – Authorities are investigating what’s being called a suspicious death in Missoula.
The body of a 46-year-old woman was found Sunday night in the area of East Broadway and Interstate 90, according to an alert sent out by the University of Montana Police Department.
“The proximity of the incident to the campus and the ongoing investigation is prompting UMPD to issue this alert,” UMPD says.
Missoula Police Department spokesman Sgt. Travis Welsh says the body was found at approximately 6:55 p.m. on Sunday in an access tunnel under I-90 and adjacent to the 1100 block of East Broadway.
Detectives were called to the scene and an investigation is currently underway “into the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death,” according to Sgt. Welsh.
