Suspect in fatal Hamilton hit-and-run due in court Monday

HAMILTON – A man who is facing negligent homicide charges after a Sunday afternoon hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a 10-year-old boy is scheduled to appear in court.

Ravalli County Attorney Bill Fulbright tells MTN News that Joseph McNamara, 59, who was arrested in a Hamilton home after a six hour search is expected to appear in Ravalli County Justice Court on Monday afternoon.

Sheriff Holton says Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Montana Highway Patrol troopers, Hamilton Police officers, US Forest Service law enforcement, the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office, and the US Marshal’s Service worked together to find McNamara.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the hit and run that happened on Golf Course Road and will release further details as the investigation proceeds.
