POLSON — A Ronan man is facing charges following a weekend shooting incident in the Mission Valley.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell says that at approximately 3 a.m. on Sunday deputies and Flathead Tribal Police responded to a report of a male shooting at people in the St. Mary’s Lake Road area of St. Ignatius.

An investigation led to the arrest of 21-year-old, Christopher Brooks, of Ronan.

According to Sheriff Bell, the investigation further showed that there had been a party taking place when a disagreement arose.

Brooks and another person left the party, but then returned and Brooks opened fire upon the group, according to Sheriff Bell.

No persons were hit with bullets but at least one vehicle sustained damage.

Brooks was located by deputies and jailed on two charges of assault with a weapon and marijuana possession.

His bond was set at $100,000 in Lake County Justice Court.
