A car that was stolen Saturday in Billings with a child inside has found in the Lame Deer area.

Billings Police Department Captain. Neil Lawrence says Northern BIA law enforcement contacted Billings police around 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning and said they had found the stolen vehicle.

A 7-year-old Billings boy was found safe after his father's Uber Eats car was stolen with the child inside from the Burger King at 520 North 27th Street shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the car was stolen from the restaurant while the Uber Eats driver was inside picking up an order.

The suspect took the vehicle with the 7-year-old boy still inside but let him out of the vehicle in the 100 block of Clark Avenue. The boy then knocked on a homeowner's door and was able to call his father.

Billings Police reunited the boy with his father around 6:30 p.m. at the downtown Burger King. Officers later located the vehicle near Pioneer Park and engaged in a chase which ended after police lost the vehicle in traffic.

Lawrence said there have been no arrests as of Monday morning and the case remains an ongoing investigation.
