HELENA — The Utah Highway Patrol says one of its troopers arrested a man on a homicide warrant issued in Helena on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a news release, 37-year-old Troy Allen Mullin was taken into custody on I-15 in the Cedar City, Utah area.

Utah Highway Patrol Troopers received reports of a reckless driver on the interstate just after 4 p.m.

A trooper located the vehicle and reportedly saw it reach speeds of close to 100 mph, weave in and out of traffic, and cut other vehicles off.

The driver briefly pulled over when the trooper activated his lights then took off again before stopping and pulling over.

The trooper identified Mullin by his identification.

When the trooper searched Mullin's name it came back with a "extraditable warrant out of Helena, Montana for Homicide."

Mullin was taken into custody without incident.

Helena Police Assistant Chief Curt Stinson says that Mullin is a suspect in an attempted homicide investigation from several weeks ago. Police plan to release more details about the incident on Wednesday.

Mullin is also a registered sex offender and considered an absconder from parole. He has convictions for sexual intercourse without consent, burglary, criminal endangerment, intimidation, and escape.
