UPDATED: Armed standoff in Uptown Butte continues

UPDATE: 10/13/2022, 8:05 AM — As of 7:58 am Thursday morning, the Butte Sheriff reports no new updates. At approximately 3:20 am Sheriff Lester said the standoff is continuing and an armed male suspect remains inside the residence. Negotiations are continuing. Lewis and Clark County SWAT has relieved BSB SWAT at the scene. Streets in the area are blocked. The public asked to stay away from the area.

Butte Police are at the scene of a standoff in the 500 block of West Aluminum Street in Uptown. MTN's John Emeigh reports from the scene that a SWAT team is also engaged.

Traffic is blocked off at the intersection of Washington and West Aluminum. The public is advised to avoid the area until further notice.
