MISSOULA — The University of Montana Police Department is investigating a pair of nonresidential burglaries that have happened over the past week.

UMPD states the first burglary was reported on Oct. 3 at the Wash House #2 in the University Villages. The second incident happened on Oct. 5 in Stone Hall.

An alert sent out Thursday morning by UMPD states that in both incidents "the suspect(s) entered the structure unlawfully and used a drill to open the change boxes on washing machines and vending machines."

UMPD adds that an undisclosed amount of cash was taken and that the machines were "significantly damaged."

All students, staff, and faculty are being asked to "be vigilant of suspicious activities in our campus buildings and UM grounds."

The burglaries are currently under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact UMPD's non-emergency line at (406) 243-6131 or the emergency line at (406) 243-4000.
