HELENA — After warnings of unrest at capital buildings across the country, MTN News checked in at the Montana Capitol complex Helena.

As of 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, things were quiet at the Capitol in terms of any protests, but we noticed an increased law enforcement presence.

We've seen increased patrols all around the building and law enforcement also cut off vehicle access in the north side of the building (pictured above).

MTN News is aware that the Capitol building itself was locked, including all exterior entrances.

The Department of Administration sent out an email to employees stating local, state, and federal law enforcement will continue to work in the coming days to address any potential issues, should they arise.

People are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
