KALISPELL – New information is now emerging on the death of a 40-year-old man in Martin City.

Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino says information from the medical examiner’s office points toward a pre-existing medical condition as the likely cause of Jesse Rule’s death.

On Sunday, the sheriff’s office responded to reports of a man not breathing outside of a saloon in Martin City.

CPR was administered, but he died on scene.

The sheriff’s office is still waiting for the toxicology report to make their final ruling on cause of death, but Heino says if any substances come up in the report, they could’ve put stress on Rule’s pre-existing medical condition, causing him to die.

There is no timeline for when those tests are expected to be complete.
