As December gets underway, many people are starting to put up their Christmas trees. For those looking for a living tree for their holiday, the Uptown Optimist Club has started their annual Christmas Tree Lot at Montana ExpoPark.
In the FFA Beef Barn, tree hunters can sort through a large variety of trees, incluing Douglas firs and Ponderosa pines. Prices for these trees range from just a few dollars up to $100 for the largest options.
The tree lot not only offers trees, but also wreaths, tree stands, tree preservatives to keep your tree lasting longer, and holiday decorations.
The Uptown Optimist Club operates their lot every year to benefit youth programs, such as the Boys and Girls Scouts of America, Mercy Home, and fighting childhood cancer, to name a few.
“Just to watch the kids run around and run the parents ragged, and the husband and wife fighting over the tree, you know, and the wife usually wins, so it’s unique that we’re able to do that,” said Dallas Lopez, president of the Uptown Optimist Club.
The trees go on a first come, first serve basis and once they run out, there will be no more trees.
