Carl Clayton Parsons has been identified as the man who died in a crash in Great Falls on Wednesday.

Cascade County Sheriff/Coroner Jesse Slaughter released the name on Friday, adding that Parsons was 69 years old. Slaughter said the cause of death was blunt force trauma, and the manner of death was accident.

The GFPD released the following details:

On 11/11/20 at approximately 3 pm. GFPD officers responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of 14th St and Central Ave West. The vehicles involved were a Ford Ranger pickup and a Freightliner cargo truck. Officers found a single male occupant in the Ford Ranger to be trapped inside due to heavy passenger side damage and a jammed driver’s door.
Live saving efforts were started on scene and the male was transported to Benefis. The male ultimately died from injuries sustained in the crash. The occupants of the Freightliner truck were uninjured and cooperative with the investigation.
GFPD Patrol officers and detectives, with the assistance of the Montana Highway Patrol and Cascade County Sheriff’s Office, investigated the fatality crash. The Ford Ranger was turning left off Central Ave West onto 14th St NW when the vehicle was struck by the Freightliner truck, which was westbound on Central Ave West.

Police are continuing to review video surveillance from the area and complete their investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.

(NOVEMBER 11) One of the people involved in the two-vehicle crash on Central Avenue West has died.

The crash involved two vehicles: a box truck and a small pickup truck.

One driver was taken to Benefis Health System. The GFPD said there were no other major injuries.

Traffic was blocked on Central Avenue West for several hours.
