MISSOULA — To allow everyone to celebrate Thanksgiving with a warm, comforting meal, the Poverello Center will be hosting a grab-and-go Thanksgiving meal event along with a limited dining service.

Seating will be reduced to ensure social distancing at the Poverello Center Thanksgiving day at 11am to 5pm.

For those who don't feel comfortable dining in can receive meals ready to go. From 12pm to 4pm the grab-and-go meals will be available at the Johnson Street Emergency Shelter.

“Thanksgiving has always been really important here at the Poverello Center,” said Executive Director Amy Allison Thompson, “we know we’ve had limited capacity in these challenging times but thanks to First Security Bank we are happy to be providing a meal to everyone, including those that don’t feel comfortable dining in.”

In previous years the Poverello Center serves up to 800 meals on Thanksgiving day.

But this year, food services have been significantly impacted due to social distancing protocols within the Poverello Center building.

Even so event programming for this holiday season will be designed to offer community hope, support, and connection in the safest, most comfortable way possible during these hard times.
