KALISPELL — The ballots are due back today for the Smith Valley Fire Department levy request.
The Department is asking votes to approve a $450,000 levy to properly staff and support their fire house.
They serve almost 7,000 people within a 69-mile radius with only two full time EMTs and firefighters, according to the department’s website.
The levy money would go toward bringing staffing up to six full time emergency responders – two of whom would be on shift 24 hours a day.
