KALISPELL — The City of Kalispell has announced a major change in the planning department.
Jarod Nygren was hired on Thursday to replace retiring planning director Tom Jentz. Kalispell City Manager Doug Russell says Nygren will be the city’s planning, building, and community development director starting immediately.
Nygren, who has worked for the City of Kalispell for the past five years as a senior planner, says he jumped at the chance to be part of the future growth of Kalispell.
“You know I just want to be part of the future growth of the city providing opportunities for people to live here and for businesses to come here and just be part of the growth and future of Kalispell,” said Nygren
Nygren said he plans to focus on the core area plan and community development downtown in the coming months.
