COLUMBIA FALLS — Firefighters respond to two early morning fires in the span of minutes Sunday in Columbia Falls.
Columbia Falls firefighters first responded to a fire at the Weyerhaeuser medium density fiberboard plant at 4 a.m.
Just four minutes later, a call came in for a house fire on Third Avenue West.
Columbia Falls Fire Chief Rick Hagen says firefighters split into two teams to combat both fires.
He says no one was injured in either fire but the house suffered extensive damage.
Hagen says the fire started from the chimney, and that the roof is a total loss.
The firefighters were able to control the house fire before it spread to neighboring homes.
The Evergreen and Whitefish fire departments assisted Columbia Falls with the blaze.
