KALISPELL — Nicki Parisho who is the virtual health manager with Kalispell Regional Medical Center tells MTN the hospital uses a unique video system to reach patients at home.
Perisho says that the video service is usually used in more minor cases needing consultation like the sniffles or pink eye. She added that this holiday season, KRMC chose to use the monitor to video chat Santa Claus into the hospital from the North Pole - with the help of two of Santa's elves.
"When you have a sick child, an ill child during the holidays. They're in the hospital they don't want to be here, the parents don't want to be here. Everybody is kinda sad and scared," said Perisho. "Just to have a little comfort with Santa, knowing that Santa is watching and looking out for you I think is really comforting."
Perisho says Santa visits with eight in patients and will make his way to the out patient treatment center.
