KALISPELL — Fuel Fitness in Kalispell was one of a number of gyms in the state to open its doors Friday morning.

Extra safety measures are in place at Fuel Fitness including mandatory cell phone wipes and hand sanitizer for everyone entering the building. The 24-hour gym will close their doors from 11:30 p.m. to midnight each night, thoroughly sanitizing the gym.

Fuel Fitness general manager Matt Hurley said deep cleans take place every Friday and Saturday from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Hurley says the gym is taking a phased reopening approach by only allowing 50 gym-goers at a time, ensuring safety for everyone.

“The state has allowed us to operate at 50 percent fire code capacity so we can allow up to 150 people in the club at one point in time, but we want to be safer in the beginning here and make sure that we’re taking all the proper precautions to keep our members and our staff safe,” said Hurley.

Hurley said there was a line of gym-goers outside Fuel Fitness's door Friday morning eager for reopening.
