CONDON — The Snow Creek Fire which is burning in the Bob Marshall Wilderness has grown to an estimated 1,561 acres with dry, hot conditions predicted to remain through Thursday.
The blaze was sparked by lightning on Aug. 2 in the Spotted Bear Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest.
There are 25 people assigned to the fire which is burning 19 miles northeast of Condon and is expected to spread to the south and east.
Point protection activities -- consisting of structure wrapping and sprinkler system installations -- have been completed at the Black Bear and Salmon Forks Administrative site, including the Big Salmon Pack Bridge.
