KALISPELL — State transportation officials gave updates Tuesday regarding two major projects involving the Kalispell bypass.
Montana Department of Transportation District Administrator Bob Vosen said both the Foys Lake Road interchange and the Highway 93 to Airport Road projects are on time as expected.
The Highway 93 to Airport Road project consist of redesigning 1.5 miles of the southern section of the bypass, including an expansion to four lanes.
MDT also plans to replace the Foys Lake roundabout with overpasses and expanding the southern half of the bypass to a total of four lanes.
Vosen said MDT will hold an open house on March 10 in Kalispell to allow residents a chance to meet with design teams and give input on conceptual renderings.
“Share ideas, thoughts, concerns, so looking forward to that and having that chance for the public to interact with the potential contracting and design teams,” said Vosen.
Once a contractor is awarded, Vosen said construction on the Foys Lake Road interchange is expected to start this fall.
