KALISPELL — The Kalispell City Council approved an increase to water rates for the first time since 2013.
The increase to water and sewer rates were approved at Monday night’s city council meeting. New rates see the average bill increase roughly $9.44 per month through 2021.
The approved rates become effective this June with increases being phased out over a seven-year period.
The new approved rates were 23 percent less than the original proposal presented in February. The council also approved a 50 percent reduction in development impact fees.
