MISSOULA — Missoula Art Museum is kicking off its Annual Benefit Art Auction during First Friday on January 3rd.

Friday started the first round of silent auction bidding on their website.

Twelve pieces are being sought after. This is the first year the museum has done online bidding and had wanted to offer participants that are unable to make it to the second and third rounds in person an option to get a piece of art.

Carey Powers, the Membership and Marketing Coordinator at MAM, said this event is very important this year not only because it helps fund raise for future events and exhibitions but it also falls on the museum's opening anniversary.

"2020 is the 45th anniversary of the founding of the Missoula Art Museum and the art auction has played a crucial role in funding the museum since then," said Powers.

The MAM has been holding its art auction for over 35 years and if you are interested in participating you can register at missoulaartmuseum.org
