Mountain Line will be updating bus routes, signs and shelters soon -- all thanks to a federal 2018 grant that gave the transit line $2.7 million.

They will be eliminating and adding stops, and making all stops on the main routes one and two ADA compliant. Forty-four trash cans will also be added to stops and all signs will be replaced to match.

Officials say ridership is near the highest its ever been at around 1.5 million rides per year.

Bill Pfeiffer says Mountain Line has been gathering public comment for the past month and says feedback has been mostly positive.

"We want to have a system that is safe, we want to have a system that's accessible to everyone, not just some people. And we want to have a system that's efficient, that's able to get people to where they need to go on time," Pfeiffer said.

A few shelters have already been updated, but Pfeiffer says most will be updated next spring. For more information you can visit the Mountain Line website here.
