HAMILTON — High schools in Ravalli County are close to firming up their plans for modified graduation ceremonies in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Communities are already stepping up to honor the graduations in new and different ways this year. Towns like Darby, Florence and Hamilton have been posting signs and banners to honor the seniors and give them some special recognition in a year when COVID-19 threatens to overshadow their academic accomplishments.
But it's looking like all of the schools will be able to have some commencement ceremonies.
In Hamilton, where the downtown is alive with banners for each senior, school administrators are planning for graduation on May 31, with two guests per graduate either outdoors, or indoors. Plans should be finalized by May 26.
Stevensville High School has made plans for outdoor graduation on the football field on May 30. Corvallis, Victor and Florence-Carlton are also expected to announce all of their graduation details soon.
