Rescuers assist injured skier near West Yellowstone

WEST YELLOWSTONE — Gallatin County Search and Rescue assisted an injured skier near West Yellowstone Saturday afternoon, according to a county media release.

According to the release, a 50-year-old Idaho woman fell around 3:15 p.m. Saturday while cross-country skiing on the Rendezvous Ski trail, about two miles south of West Yellowstone.

The woman had a charged cell phone and was able to call 911, giving Search and Rescue volunteers precise location details.

Rescuers located the woman, who appeared to have a broken collar bone. She was transported via ATV to a Hebgen Basin Fire Department ambulance.
