MISSOULA – A veteran is searching for his service dog after he was taken from the Missoula Travel Centers of America truck stop near the Wye.

Masik is a Black Chow Chow who helps his owner Ryan Jones with his PTSD he developed while serving in the Marines.

Jones, his dog and wife were traveling through the state to transport an RV to Oregon and made a stop at the TA on Monday, Sept. 10.  When Jones returned to his vehicle Masik was gone.

Jones’ wife  Lynn Delgado says he is devastated by the incident.

“It’s his service dog. It’s his best friend and honestly, sometimes I get a little jealous because it’s like I do exist.  It’s his best friend his buddy. “It’s more than just a dog. Ryan needs him and Masik needs him,” Delgado said.  “They both need each other.”

Masik is mostly black with some red tips to his fur. He was also born with a shorter back leg and when he stands you can see the leg hover off the ground.
