MISSOULA – Missoula Pediatric Dentistry will be providing free dental care to veterans at their location off Reserve Street on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

It will be the second year that the group has hosted the event and they expect to evaluate more than the thirty veterans they provided care for last year.

The idea started when Dr. Susan B. Tiede noticed free dental care for vets and wanted to repeat the process.

Tiede also felt especially connected to the idea because of her years of service in the Navy.

Missoula Pediatric Dentistry will be all hands on deck for the event and Missoula Oral Surgery will also be providing care for veterans.

Both offices are excited to be able to offer this treatment to veterans in need and they say the availability of an oral surgeon at the same location makes this dental care opportunity special.

“It’s just a real small way we can say thank you for all that they do. We are really indebted to them and we are thankful for the freedom that we enjoy because of what they have done for our country,” Dr. Grant Wiswell MD DDS MS Oral Surgeon said.

“Because the access to any care or services for our veterans is so incredibly minimal unfortunately what a lot of times their treatment needs come down to is extractions,” Dr. Susan Tiede DDS said.  “It’s wonderful when Dr. Wiswell volunteers his time to be able to, when people need teeth extracted they are usually suffering some discomfort can be pretty great, it can be pretty minimal but it can be pretty great and that he’s available to take cafe of that right away is amazing.”

Both dental professionals would like to thank their staff for donating their time tomorrow and would also like to thank Costco, Loose Caboose, La Petite, Rosauers and Missoula Copy Center for their donations to the event.
