Big Sky Documentary Film Fest is back for its 16th installment

MISSOULA – The Big Sky Documentary Film festival is back again for its 16th annual appearance in Missoula.

There are over 100 entries and some documentaries will compete for four different awards: mini, short, feature and Big Sky.

Films will be screened in three different locations between the Wilma, The Elks Lodge and The Montana Children’s Theater.

“Out of Omaha” will be the first movie to screen for the festival at 7 p.m. Friday at the Elks Lodge. 

Ski Bum: The Warren Miller Story will be the featured film at the Wilma Theater at 6 p.m. Saturday..

The festival is put on by the Big Sky Film Institute who also put on the Doc Shop, which shows aspiring filmmakers new filmmaking strategies and technology.  

Tickets can be bought individually or you can get a pass for the whole weekend.
