MISSOULA – Monday’s extreme cold didn’t only shatter some records, it also took its toll on area school buses.

The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office reports that a pair of Frenchtown school buses became disabled due to the extreme cold.

When deputies arrived, the buses were loaded with kids and temperatures were in the negative teens.

Deputies assisted getting the students off and loaded on to new buses.

School buses did not run on Monday in Charlo due to the cold weather while buses ran two hours late in Ronan and for Seeley Swan High School.
