Work on the news $29 million bridge will resume on Jan. 2, 2019.

MISSOULA – The work on the new Russell Street Bridge is continuing in Missoula despite our recent cold and snow.

Crews will be pouring the new bridge deck this week and will use “innovative heaters and materials” to perform the work, according to a news release.

The Milwaukee Trail pedestrian underpass construction will pause temporarily until warmer weather allows for successful paving and additional concrete work.

Additionally, traffic will stay in the current configuration until the first half of the new bridge is completed.

The Milwaukee Trail detour has been restored to Wyoming Street and is utilizing the original route trail users were following earlier this spring.

Construction managers also note that temporary bus shelters for Mountain Line stops along the project route have also been installed.
