Missoula crews respond to river rescue near California Street footbridge

MISSOULA – Crews have called off the search for a second person in the Clark Fork River near the California Street footbridge.

One person was recovered, but a Lifeflight helicopter was unable to locate a second person with an infrared flyover.

We’ll have more information on this developing story as it becomes available.

MISSOULA – Life Flight is using infrared equipment to help search the Clark Fork River for a possible second victim.

Law enforcement on the ground cannot confirm whether there is a second person involved in the incident.

They added the possible second victim could have left the water on his own without notifying or receiving help from law enforcement.

Missoula emergency responders are currently on the scene of a river rescue near the California Street footbridge.

Missoula Fire Battalion Chief David Wolter tells us one man was pulled out of the water and transported to the hospital.

They are currently searching for a possible second victim. Crews are searching from the old footbridge to Reserve.
