MISSOULA – For most of us, the last of the snow or the first blooms are sure signs of spring in Western Montana but for others, it’s the arrival of the first car show of the season…

One of the longest running car shows in Western Montana, The Bitterroot Classic is a signpost of the changing seasons in early May.

Car enthusiasts from all over the region bring their rides out for the first time, especially after this lingering cold weather.

Members of the Five Valley Ford Club brought their cars by the Cherry Creek Media studios for “Max Motor Morning” Friday, giving my Max co-hosts JJ Quinn and Dennis Bragg a chance to check out the cool rides.

The Bitterroot Classic is an “open class” car show, welcome to all makes, so there’s a lot of variety on display.

The show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 Saturday 4 p.m. in the lot outside Dillards at the Southgate Mall.
