MISSOULA – The Saturday morning Missoula Farmers Market has been going on since May but starting Tuesday night the Tuesday Farmers Market will have their first day of business.

The Missoula’s Farmers market offers fresh produce flowers baked goods and coffee all made by local vendors.

You can use a variety of different payment options to buy those local products, including SNAP benefits.

If you would like to use SNAP benefits at the market you can simply redeem those for tokens at a table located in the market and then use those tokens at vendors.

The program is not only beneficial to the customers but also brings in some more earnings for the vendor.

Obviously it’s a benefit for the vendor because they’re not only able to absorb the $10 but now they have an extra $10 that they can take in from the double SNAP program and I think all the vendors are thrilled to be selling their products not just for themselves but for the general health of the population,” said Missoula Farmers Market Chair Lou Ann Crowley.

Only produce like fruits and vegetables are eligible for the double snap program while all other food items is eligible for the regular program.
