MISSOULA — Officials provided an update on a traffic accident involving a bicyclist on Wednesday.
Missoula Police Department Sgt. Jim Klawitter says the 20-year-old woman who was hit is in stable condition.
On Wednesday afternoon, the woman was riding her bike near Big Dipper on South Higgins Avenue when she was hit by an SUV and dragged for a few blocks. Police had no updates on her injuries. The incident caused a closure on the 600 block of South Higgins Avenue between 4th and 5th streets.
A police officer on scene told MTN News at least 15 people were attempting to lift the car to free the biker, and multiple people used their own personal car jacks to lift it up.
The driver of the SUV, a 49-year-old man, has not been arrested or formally charged, according to Klawitter.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
