MISSOULA — A public comment period is open through Wednesday for Missoula residents who want to weigh in on what's called the new Mount Dean Stone Preserve Recreation and Special Resource Management Plan.

The plan addresses the management of 535 acres of City open space acquired during the last five years with the help of private landowners and Five Valleys Land Trust.

Mount Dean Stone is located in the South Hills between Pattee Canyon and Miller Creek.

The plan outlines future trail connections and construction of new non-motorized routes to the summit, as well as natural resource conservation and wildlife management.
