MISSOULA — Missoula County Commissioners have approved the rezoning of an area on the north side of town near DeSmet School.

A new brewery submitted a plan for the area off Butler Creek Road to receive a special zoning designation last month.
Otherworld Brewing is hoping to put their first brewery in the area, but needed the special zoning designation to do so.
DeSmet School Principal Matthew Driessen was hoping the land would be used for residential usage in hopes of building a community around his school.
School officials also have a plan for school expansion, which includes turning the gym into a community center outside of school hours.
During Thursday's meeting, commissioners unanimously approved the zoning change.
