UPDATE: Crews extinguish Missoula structure fire

The City of Missoula fire department issued a press release in regard to Tuesday's structure fire. Below is the press release:

At approximately 12:30 pm, a structure fire was reported with smoke and flames showing at 2306 Ernest Avenue.

The Missoula Police Department arrived on the scene and confirmed all occupants had made it out of the building.

The first arriving engine on the scene reported a working structure fire. Missoula Rural Fire 311 and Missoula Fire 131 made entry and got a knockdown on the blaze.

Additional engines assisted with controlling fire extension in the attic space and contents of the structure.

No firefighters were injured. All pets made it out.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Missoula Emergency Services treated the three occupants with smoke inhalation.

The Missoula Police Department assisted with evacuation and traffic control.

And the Missoula Rural Fire responded as mutual aid and assisted in fire knockdown.

NorthWestern Energy responded and isolated electricity and gas.

Missoula Fire Department Mobile Support Team responded to assist occupants with extended assistance for lodging and support.

MISSOULA - The City of Missoula Fire Department reports crews remain are on the scene of a structure fire in the 2300 block of Ernest Avenue.

The blaze has been extinguished, according to a social media post.

An investigation into the cause of the fire continues.

MISSOULA - Firefighters are continuing to battle a structure fire in the 2300 block of Ernest Avenue in Missoula.

Fire officials report that the people inside the structure were able to evacuate.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
