People are opening their hearts to help the hungry again here in Montana as the 25th annual Guerrilla Turkey Drive passed a major milestone on Thursday.

Organized by Cherry Creek Media and co-sponsored by KPAX-TV and Deck Truck Lines, the Guerrilla Turkey Drive benefits food banks and pantries throughout western Montana.

From individual donations, to cash raised by local businesses like Dominos, people are pitching again this year to help give families in need a Thanksgiving meal.

The Missoula Electric Cooperative rolled in with three trucks with a huge load of turkeys on Thursday – 4,800 pounds in all. We're still counting, but it looks like that brings the total to approximately 700 turkeys.

The 25th annual Guerrilla Turkey Drive wraps up Friday with donations being accepted until 5 the Cherry Creek Media studios, which are located at 1600 North Avenue West in Missoula.
